Our Initial Aviation English Instructors course program is part of our Teachers Training Program.

This particular course provides essential training for pilots and air traffic controllers who want to  become ICAO English Proficiency Trainers.

Building an accredited and qualified Aviation training system requires competent instructors, examiners, and raters. The Language Proficiency personnel must develop a program that shall contain activities that are designed to address all six language skill areas specified in the ICAO Rating Scale and holistic descriptors: pronunciation, structure, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and interactions.

The design and development of an effective aviation English training program must be driven by the constraints and the framework established by the ICAO language provisions (Doc 9835), which will define the objectives of the training program. In our experience and view the ultimate goal is to ensure unambiguous pilot-controller communication. Pilots and air traffic controllers are two sides of the same coin in the radiotelephonic exchange.

All our lessons have been created in a very advanced aviation context. They are taught by aviation experts, and the training system contributes towards expanding the trainees’ Aviation and English knowledge.

The challenge for the LP personnel is huge. The successful delivery of an aviation English training program depends on the structure of that training program, the combination of quality training materials, the learning environment, the set of training techniques to be used, the use of training technologies, motivated learners, the accuracy of the assessment/rating procedures and committed and qualified trainers, examiners/raters.

Professional language training development follows a systematic process with well-defined steps. Underperforming in the training and follow up of the LP personnel can have serious consequences in terms of cost, time spent, resources allocated, and achievement of training objectives.

The duration of the training: The AVIATION ENGLISH TRAINER TRAINING  lasts from 1 to 3 weeks.

Unfortunately, there are always money constraints, and typically customers who are budget-driven choose one or two weeks of training. However, studies indicate that short intensive courses are not necessarily effective in enabling teaching staff to become effective Aviation English teachers. That is the reason why; Objective-driven customers choose three weeks of training (six weeks in all) and some even require team follow-up and future project support to build the training system.
